A check engine light rarely tells you much on its own. It might be a failing sensor, a vacuum leak, an ignition fault or something in the fuel side of the system, and the only way to know is to test. What We Check
Engine management work starts with testing, not with replacing parts.
- Fault code scanning. We pull stored and pending codes from every module, not just the engine control unit. A code narrows down the circuit at fault rather than naming the part.
- Live data analysis. Watching sensor readings while the engine runs shows which values drift outside their expected range. Plenty of faults never set a code at all.
- Sensor and actuator testing. Each component in the suspect circuit gets tested individually against specification. Wiring and connectors are checked at the same time, since they cause more faults than the parts do.
- Repair and verification. Once the fault is fixed, we clear the codes and road test to confirm it stays gone. An intermittent problem that hasn't returned under load hasn't been proven fixed.
